8K on asphalt

I just completed the 8K Shamrock run in Portland, OR while wearing my new Montrail Rogue Racers, the green ones I might add, which was a perfect color for this St.Patrick's day race. Though this shoe may be better suited for a dirt path, I thought I'd try them out in todays race, which was on the rainy asphalt streets of Portland. This ultra light, snug fitting shoe worked out great, with my legs and feet feeling fine. I am not an avid runner, and was worried I might run into knee or ankle pain running in such a minimal trail shoe that hasn't been broken in, but it felt great. I might not of had the fastest time, but I'm content with running 8K just under 40 minutes. The highly breathable mesh did allow plenty of rain in, but that was to be expected.
